About Volta

Originally an independent cinema in Dublin founded by James Joyce, Volta, now part of the Element Pictures portfolio, has thrived for more than 100 years and offers the best of independent Irish and international films and documentaries. 

As the Volta brand was already well established in Irish and international film circles, Element Pictures saw the potential of a VOD platform to broaden Volta’s reach, and sought a partner who could help them deliver on that vision. 

Opportunities for Expanding an Established Brand

Volta needed their VOD platform to provide high-tech security measures, accommodate their unique localised content rights, and allow for the development of new services as their reach extended. Shift72 delivered on these needs with:

  • Digital Rights Management (DRM) & Geo-Blocking technology for trusted security
  • The ability for consumers to choose content on a pay-per-view basis
  • Content promotion channels such as integrated social media, pre-purchase availability, and automatic-play trailers
